The I Am A Free Bird Campaign Takes Flight
Posted on September 02, 2016
In addition to debuting the “I Am A Free Bird” single at Madison Square Garden, we are launching an entire campaign on September 13 called I Am A Free Bird in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The 2016 campaign will encourage children affected by cancer to express themselves through the arts and boldly declare “I Am A Free Bird,” spread their wings, overcome their obstacles, and let their dreams take flight.
Falyn Vega, a multi-talented 17-year-old in remission from cancer through the power of the arts is the face of our campaign. She hopes to inspire children everywhere while making her dreams come true.
We have collaborated with Music Works NYC and Manhattan Studios to record an original song performed by Falyn and the President and Founder of AFB, Godni Amir, who also wrote the song. The song was produced by Sony Record music
producer, Synematik, a Grammy nominated mix engineer from the Fermata Music Group. His credits include songs by Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer, and Train.
We are also launching the “I Am A Free Bird” music video with the support of The Molecule, a visual effects production company (House of Cards, The Unbreakable Kimmy Shmidt). This music video features three of our AFB children: Falyn, Ryan, and Pietra (as “young Falyn”), all of whom have battled cancer. Each of these children have been educated, motivated, and celebrated by AFB on their journey to become inspiring young artists.
