July Is Sarcoma Awareness Month

Sarcoma is a rare type of cancer that begins in the bones or soft tissues — including muscles, fat, blood vessels, or connective tissue. Though it accounts for only about 1% of adult cancers, it’s more common in children and adolescents, with subtypes like osteosarcoma and Ewing sarcoma, frequently diagnosed during adolescence. Most people have never heard of sarcoma until a diagnosis changes everything. At A Free Bird, we support children affected by all forms of cancer through free arts education, mentorship, and creative experiences and programs. We believe in treating the whole child and offering a way to express, process, and find joy through creativity to empower and strengthen their mental wellness while medical doctors treat the illness. Believe in the healing power of the arts. Join our mission to raise awareness and show support.
