The ‘I am a Free Bird’ campaign was created to inspire and uplift children who are affected by
cancer
by showing them that we stand together with them, and fly free as one. The campaign asked people to
record themselves saying ‘I am a Free Bird’ while performing or engaging in an art that they enjoy.
The campaign encouraged children affected by cancer to express themselves and boldly declare “I Am
A Free Bird,” spreading their wings and letting their dreams take flight. One of our children,
Falyn Vega, was the face of our campaign and also sang on a single penned for the campaign by
organization founder Godni Amir. Falyn is an incredible representation of our mission – a gifted
performer and heroic fighter in remission from cancer.
A highlight of A Free Bird’s journey as an organization was watching Falyn and Godni perform the
song ‘I am a Free Bird’ live at Madison Square Garden – an amazing night raising awareness of
pediatric cancer. We truly believe every child can be empowered to pursue their passions and fly
high!
In 2016, singer and cancer survivor Falyn Vega joined the campaign in hopes of inspiring other children to use the arts to overcome their disease. Falyn is the voice behind the iconic “I Am A Free Bird” anthem, helping us raise awareness of A Free Bird so more children can use the power of music to defeat their cancer like she did.
A Free Bird is proud to finally unveil its signature fragrance, I Am A Free Bird! Founder and President Godni Amir created the scent in collaboration with Japanese fragrance giant, Takasago. With I Am A Free Bird, we invoke the hope, hazy dreams and aspirations, and bright, clean energy of childhood, and capture them in a bottle. The face of the I Am A Free Bird fragrance is A Free Bird program graduate, Mia!
The I Am A Free Bird Campaign was created in 2015 to inspire and uplift the children who are afflicted with cancer by showing them that we stand and fly together as one. The campaign asks people to record themselves saying “I Am A Free Bird” while performing or doing an art that they enjoy.
The campaign helps A Free Bird fulfill its mission to help each child affected by cancer by generating awareness of the organization and its programs. The movement has gained recognition and traction as children, their parents and even celebrities including Elly Mayday, Bob Picardo, Ariel Tweto and Adrian Ross, created and shared I Am A Free Bird videos.
