Has your child ever dreamed of seeing an exhibit at the Guggenheim or watching an award-winning Broadway musical? Our Dream Big program strives to inspire young artists afflicted with cancer or other serious illnesses by giving them access to performances and events at New York’s most famous cultural institutions.
Sadly, COVID-19 has shut down many of our options for this program in New York. But while the city sleeps, we continue to offer our inpatient branch of Dream Big, where the performance is brought to the children.
Inpatient Dream Big introduces the arts directly into hospitals, bringing the experience to those children who can’t get out due to their illness. This includes live performances as well as a professional art therapist who conducts lessons in the playroom.
As a result of COVID-19, we have also created a series of online Art Education classes, where children get to engage digitally with art tutors for live video classes in Music, Dance, Drama, creative writing, visual arts, and many other mediums.
This program aims to provide each child, whether fighting cancer or in remission, with a lasting connection to the arts and the inspiration to pursue their own creative dream.
